Wonderful food and accommodation Brief Holiday - A Getaway by Ian Laughland, South Africa 21 November 2005 We had a very relaxing stay of 3 nights at Als and enjoyed the view of the bay and mountians. The situation is somewhat noisy being just off the main road but otherwise very pleasent surroundings. Being well traveled I don't take a decision to stay somewhere lightly and the researching here certainly paid off. So well located in Gordon's Bay just outside the reaches of the madding crowd.Parking, location, views to the bay, even your own chef for breakfasts. Although the settings are great and the decor tasteful and sensible, the best part of this place is the personalities in charge. New owners Charlie and Cindy are at your every need and treat you with a mix of respect and homely friendliness that will have you wanting to come back. Cindy has more energy than the Duracell bunny on steroids. We loved each day and were sad to leave as early as we did on departure day since we would be missing breakfast, ... but Cindy rustled up a surprise that was truly memorable.
