Oude Compagnies Post

Oude Compagnies Post

Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa
Self-catering
(POA)

The name Oude Compagnies post stems from the historical Verenigde Oost Indiese Compagnie ( Dutch East India Company) who started the outpost in 1699 in the beautiful Tulbagh valley.
Owner Jerry Swanepoel and his wife. Henriette are both lawyers practicing as an advocate and attorney respectively. They moved to Tulbagh 1995 to raise their children in the country side. Since then they have planted several hectares of vines on the farm and started making wine under the Compagnies Wijn label.
Today their son Dirk a qualified winemaker is managing the farm activities and making wine in the old stone cellar on the farm. His future plans are to develop accommodation and eco tourism on the farm as well as developing a new rage of wines under the Swanepoel label.

Mountain View and peace by

The wonderful view of the mountain, the quietness. The cattle in the paddock were very entertaining. We enjoyed our stayl Clean spacious room. Owner dealt with issues we had. One of the beds very tired. Shower needs a curtain as floods the bathroom. Catering facility very sparse.
