RIO VISTA LODGE REVIEWS (90 %) Would have been 4 Stars if not for by Dumi Luthuli, South Africa 03 January 2013 First the good points: Rio Vista is located on the banks of the Crocodile River overlooking the Kruger Park and offers the possibility of seeing wildlife from The Deck Restaurant - which we thoroughly enjoyed. It is also about 10 minutes away from the Malelane Gate to the KNP. The rooms are well-appointed and have good facilities. Our stay was however spoilt by the dirtiness of the rooms and the corridors. It appears that the only "cleaning" that is ever done is making up the beds and changing the towels, I don't think anyone ever checks if the rooms have been properly cleaned. The carpets and floors were dirty, the balcony was never cleaned in the 3 days we spent there, and the list goes on. I would gladly have given Rio Vista 4 or maybe 4 and half stars, but I can't. Very clean and tidy always smells fresh and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice view. Spacious rooms. Aircons work. Wait staff were very friendly but could be better trained, and the lady in charge also seemed to neglect things: e.g. there was still a plate of prawn shells on our table, while we were having dessert. One does not want the smell of fish while having dessert. Perfect setting for Kruger escape by Elinor South 21 May 2018 Rooms were clean and well decorated. Restaurant has stunning view. Sadly didn't get to use the on-site Spa. Staff were really helpful. Will be back!
