Welcome to Summerfields Rose Retreat and Spa situated on one of the oldest farms in the Hazyview/Sabie Valley. Established by Andre van Heerden and Ilse Fritz on the old hunting farm of former Prime Minister, Jan Smuts, the lodge has now been transformed into a self-contained guest house known as the Stonehouse, with expanding views over the valley.
We offer a luxury 5 Star tented lodge, unique rose spa and a gourmet restaurant serving breakfast daily, nestled in a natural forest and plantations of lychees, macadamia nuts and roses. Rooms are defined by the bygone romance of percale linen and roses in luxurious suites on the banks of the Sabie River.
The rose tunnels were established in 2003 for the cultivation of a unique variety of roses, and the following year the original mango orchards were replaced by macadamia trees, which are now in production. Our gourmet restaurant, Summerfields Kitchen, was officially opened on 15 December 2006 and the River Lodge and Spa followed in April 2007.
We wish you a memorable stay with us and hope to be welcoming you back in the near future. If at any point during your visit you have any queries or special requirements, please feel free to let us know.
