The White Giraffe is situated in the quaint town of Parys and offers self-catering accommodation for up to eight and has three double rooms, two with en-suite bathrooms and a further seperate bathroom. There is also a further bedroom with two single beds. We also offer room only accommodation, we have two rooms both with en-suite bathrooms on request.

The guest house is located an hour from Johannesburg and within the Dome World Heritage Site and offers a lovely, quiet atmosphere within easy reach of the town centre and the river.

The home comprises one en-suite, an extra double en-suite and one main bathroom, a lounge with DStv and a large dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and the garden, with barbecue facilities, is well maintained.

Parys offers a range of activities based around the vast Vaal River and the surrounding stunning countryside. The town is renowned for its many stylish places to eat and drink and most will not hurt your wallet. Nearby, we also have the renowned horse show arena and Golf Island which is a favourite among many.

Pleasant by

Pleasant, clean, helpful staff. Abundant breakfast, watch out or you will overeat. We enjoyed our stay. Not quite the same as home, though - no place for your clothes in the bathroom; small bath, but good shower; could have another reading light and table on the other side of the bed. We will go there again.

There are a lot of things to be improved at the White Giraffe River Cottage. The stay was pleasant and the house was okay, however there were still a lot of improvements still needing to be done. The shower door in one bathroom was broken, the roof had holes allowing bats in, which was eventful during the night and the geyser was outside which allowed for the copper piping to be stolen leaving us without hot water for two days! There was no broom, mop or scoop in the cottage and while the stay was pleasant, the attitude of the people we had to contact was not at all welcoming and understanding. I could write a whole book on the improvements and our experiences but definitely not a place we would go back to :(
