Discover the delights of the Garden Route from this modern self-catering villa in The Dunes Resort, Keurboomstrand, close to Plettenberg Bay. A short walk from the villa via a paved pathway leads you to 7km of pristine, unspoilt beach with Blue Flag status. Life-guards are on duty during peak season. Spot whale and dolphin from the viewing deck on the beach front. "Keurbooms" which means choice tree derives its name from the Western Keurboom (Virgilia oroboides).The villa sleeps four adults with an additional two small children making use of the sleeper couch in the lounge. It comprises two-bedrooms, an open-plan lounge, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and two bathrooms. The villa is not serviced. Double doors open onto a private enclosed garden with under cover braai (barbecue) area, outdoor dining area and carport. Bath and beach towels are provided for four guests.Facilities available to guests on the premises include the resort's pre-set and fixed seven-channel DStv bouquet, a restaurant, bar, hairdressing salon, two swimming pools, play ground with a trampoline and volleyball court and a car wash bay. Parking for boats and trailers is on request by prior arrangement.Activities to enjoy close by include fishing, whale and dolphin watching, river cruises, boating, canoeing, bird watching, hiking, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, cycling, bungee jumping, sky diving, game viewing and drives, wine tasting, numerous animal and bird parks, a puzzle park and water slide parks.Due to its length the Keurbooms Beach with Blue Flag status has additional access points at Enrico's Beach with a sea view restaurant, a kiosk, parking and ablution facilities and The Waves Beach with parking, ablution facilities and built-in braais (barbecues). Guests can also enjoy the beaches in Plettenberg Bay and Nature's Valley.Places of interest to visit close by include many historic sites, Stone Age archaeological sites on the Robberg Peninsula and the Matjies Cave at Keurboomstrand showing evidence of human occupation as far back as 125,000 years ago, a thriving Cape Fur Seal colony off Robberg Nature Reserve and one of the largest seagull breeding colonies at the Keurbooms River mouth.The villa has proven popular among families, nature lovers, fishermen, birders and hikers doing the Otter Trail from Tsitsikamma National Park (65km) to Nature's Valley (34km). An ideal stop-over for guests travelling to and from the Addo Elephant National Park (304km) and Qunu in the Eastern Cape (682km) where, on the 15 December 2013, Nelson Mandela was buried on his family's property in a spot he personally selected.
