138 Marine Beachfront Guesthouse has won the Top Destination Award for the best FOUR STAR GUESTHOUSE in SOUTH AFRICA in 2015. We also won SA Tourism Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2013. We are an elegant, upmarket guest house with spectacular sea front views. It is one of the few guest houses in the Cape Whale Coast area situated right at the beachfront - any closer and you'd have a whale in your bath!

No attention to detail has been spared in the superbly stylish décor. The luxurious designer suites are individually fitted with all modern comforts, meeting international standards such as king or queen-size beds decked in 400-thread count Percale linen, underfloor heating, heated towel rails, satellite TV, and wireless Internet access.

Spend lazy, sun-filled afternoons on the spacious terrace with panoramic views of the ocean and the mountains. Relax with a glass of estate wine on the deck next to the beach, and enjoy magnificent views of breaking waves and spectacular African sunsets over the ocean, or watch the whales from the comfort of your bed.

The extensive breakfast menu changes daily and on request, a picnic can be provided to enjoy on the beach in front of the guest house. On-site wellness therapies can be also be arranged.

We Loved it!! by

Wish I could stay forever! Beautiful modern establishment with warm and friendly host and hostess.

Blown away and not by the sea breeze!! by

We arrived earlier on the Friday afternoon to be greeted by a homely site ... grocery shopping ... and knew we would not be staying in a 'stiff' establishment, but one where you were free to let your hair hang loose! Jena and Louis Raubenheimer were like mom and dad figures ... ensuring that our every need was met. The view was fantastic (we had the best room in the house - Oyster) and the little touches were unbelievable ... again blown away when we received the weather report for the next day with our bed turned down. Thank you once again for the hospitality. Whoever needs to feel loved and pampered, this is definitely the place of choice! We will most certainly be back soon!

Beautiful place to stay by

Louis and Jena were the most welcoming hosts we have ever had. The house is virtually on the sea and it was such a pleasure to sit on the balcony and look over the sea as far as the eye could see. The staff was very friendly and the rooms very clean and our bed superb. The breakfasts were wonderful, with every morning something else to eat. Louis told us which restaurants was the best and they even booked it for us. Jena went to great efforts with the interior decoration of the house. I will definitely recommend this guesthouse to my friends.

We loved it! The reality and the experience of our stay surpassed our expectations. The views are amazing. The service, food and assistance offered was outstanding. There is just to many good things to say. Please go and experience it for yourself!

Fantastic guest house by

138 Marine is a real beauty. The rooms are very comfortable and have all you need. I stayed in the Coral room which has limited sea views so if you want full sea views ask for a different room. You cannot get closer to the beach than this as you literally walk 20 steps over a narrow road and your can put your feet in the ocean. The breakfast was good and there was more than enough to fill you up for the day. Special mention must go to Desre, she truly went out of her way to make my stay extra special. Thank you very much.
