Pecanwood Golf Estate, nestled next to the Hartebeespoort Dam with magnificent views of the Magalies Mountain Range. Imagine waking up to the sound of the Fish Eagle as he soars up above, while you take in the tranquil environment.

3 Pecanwood features two luxurious en-suite rooms containing king size beds, TVs with access to Netflix, Wi-Fi access and a coffee station with a microwave in each room. Each room has heating and cooling, ideal for the more chilly winter nights or the hot summer evenings.

If you love the outdoors or just want to chill, Pecanwood is the place to be. The estate offers tennis courts, a large communal pool, a restaurant at the main club house and one at the boat club. The surrounding area offers golf at either Pecanwood, Magalies Park or Seasons Golf Course. Other nearby attractions include mountain bike trails, hiking trails, paragliding, ziplining, walking with elephants, playing with monkeys or visiting the lion park.

We chose to stay here based on the pictures advertised on Safari now. We were a little disappointed that the rooms available don't have any of these views shown. This listing boasts, wonderful views of the golf course and water features in the pictures, which are there, but in reality you cannot see any of this what so ever from the rooms. If you are the type of person that likes sitting on the patio, having a braai and some drinks and taking in the view, then this is not the place to go. If you are the type that likes to get in the car and go galavanting, then this is a nice lock up and go type of place. The Owner George was there to welcome us, and he kept to himself the rest of the time we were there. Any time we left the main gate, he sent us a new access code, so he made sure we could come and go as we pleased. The room was beautifully presented. The bed was super comfy and the linen is awesome. The bathroom was clean and neat and everything was in working order. The TV was good, Netflix worked perfectly... It's Just not really the type of place we like to go to.

I booked the blue room, upon arrival we found that the room had been triple booked with the owner claiming that SafariNow did not inform him of our booking. He tried his best to rectify the situation by offering us another room however this was in a shared space which we were not comfortable with. We were disappointed not to have been able to stay in the room we booked. We then opted to take the bronze room. My rating is therefore based on the bronze room. It's suitable for a couple, comfortable size. Electric blankets on each side of the bed were welcome as the room tends to always be cold. It would've been nice to have instructions on how the aircon works. Was also nice to have Netflix and YouTube on the tv however no DStv or other channels are available. Yogurt and muesli in the room with a kettle and a microwave and fridge is also a bonus. The estate itself is very safe and secure, there's a restaurant and other amenities available within the estate. Also note that the highlights of Harties are on the other side of the dam, about a 20-30min drive from the estate. My overall experience is two stars based on the fact that our room had been triple booked.
