5 Day Kruger Experience Lodge-Treehouse

The Kruger National Park is the home of more than 500 bird species, 100 species of reptile and 150 mammal species, including the Big 5 (elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, lion and leopard) and the endangered African wild dog. During our 5 Day, 4 Night Kruger Tour, you will experience all those exciting things that South African nature has to offer.

DAY 1:

You are picked up from your hotel in Gauteng or Johannesburg Airport and travel to the subtropical Lowveld via the Highveld grasslands. We bring you to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule section of the Kruger National Park, where you will have time to unwind at the bar, enjoy a refreshing dip in our pool and relax in the beautiful tropical gardens. Afterwards, you get your first opportunity to experience the varied fauna and flora of Africa and watch the magnificent African sunset on a 3h sunset drive, before we use spotlights to locate nocturnal animals in the darkness. For dinner we provide an unforgettable bush braai in the Marula Tree Boma deep in the African bush. After dinner the night drive continues. You spend the night in comfortable en suite chalet at Tremisana Lodge.

DAY 2:

We start the day with a 4h bush walk as soon as sun rises, starting at a remote spot. A qualified ranger guides you through the bush at a pace you can handle and we experience the thrill of following big animals together. Adrenalin surges will come to their expense, even if your ranger is adequately armed. Brunch is served at Tremisana Lodge at 13h30. At around 14h30 we departure for an afternoon game drive, before then transferring to Marc's Treehouse Lodge to spend the night in romantic and fascinating treehouses. Dinner is served in the open Boma.

DAY 3:

We drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger on a custombuilt open-sided gameviewer. There you get the chance to view game without intervening glass windows and listen to and smell the denizens of the bush. During the drive we have regular stops at picnic spots, restcamps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi region's open plains attract large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope, that, in turn, attract many predators. In fact, this zone has the highest concentration of lions throughout Africa.

DAY 4:

After breakfast, we travel to the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, where injured and orphaned animals and birds are receive medical treatment. There you have the opportunity to get very close to some of the centre's residents, including lions and leopards. After lunch we drive to Tremisana, before heading towards the Big Five Tshukudu Game Reserve around 15h00 for high tea. We continue the day with an open vehicle game drive in Kruger's Big Five reserve. In the evening you return to Marc's Treehouse Lodge for dinner and stay there overnight.

DAY 5:

Start the day with a sunrise walk. After breakfast, we drive up the Panorama Route to see the scenic splendours including the Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon. You return to Gauteng in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off can be arranged.
