This is a beautiful self-catering unit situated on the slopes of Papegaaiberg, just outside of Stellenbosch. It is set in tranquil surroundings with a variety of bird life.

The unit consists of one bedroom with two single beds, a private en-suite bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen and an open-plan lounge area with two day beds and a TV with local channels. There is are lovely braai facilities available.

The unit is close to the famous Oude Libertas Theatre, as well as Libertas and Middelvlei Wine Estates. There are some golf courses nearby and the popular Spier Wine Estate is only a short drive away.

Home away from home by

Nicoleen is a perfect hostess and the location is great. Clean, quiet and good value. It was like staying with family without any of the complications.

Disappointing stay by

Unfortunately our stay was marred by the owner's change of attitude towards us once we paid the balance owing. We were out the unit most days, unit wasn't serviced which was fine but whilst we were out the owner had been in our room switching off the wall plug and closing the windows. Was that necessary? What if anything had gone missing? After the balance was paid then the owner started turning the geyser off so when we got home after a day out there was no hot water to shower and it also happened in the mornings. It appeared all the owner was concerned about was electricity costs for her, what were we paying for we ask? Should those costs not be built into her charges?

Establishments response:

I do not service the room . I went in the room because I could see valuable items on the bed. That is the reason for closing the curtains to be on the safe side. I also switched off the plugs that she left on. Would she do that at their own house. About the hot water I have a solar system but on cloudy days I switched the geyser on for two hours and then in the morning. But from what I understand a geyser that was turned on for two hours in the evening it should stil be hot. She could have only but asked or phoned me..I would have switched in on for her. That is never an issue. I only service the room when people stay long term. Regards

Simple but perfect by

Lovely area with nice parks nearby. Close to Stellies. Nicoleen was very accommodating. Flatlet is lovely and clean. We had a very nice stay here for a reasonable price.
