Areia Branca Lodge

Areia Branca Lodge is situated on a pristine beach with the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. It is 485 km north of Maputo and access is on tarred roads until the last 3.5 km leading to the lodge, which is gravel. We have 16 Chalets that are fully equipped with the necessary equipment. Each Chalet has two bedrooms; one bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has twin beds and there are twin beds in the lounge. The bathroom has a warm water shower and toilet. There is an open-plan kitchen and living area. Electricity is supplied 24 hours by EDM with a backup generator. The units are serviced except on Sundays and Public Holidays. We also have 8 Campsites that all have power points and private ablution facilities. Areia Branca is bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the ocean on the other. The warm waters offer safe bathing and smooth and easy boat launching. Fishing grounds and diving reefs are nearby and the largely unexplored reefs offer endless pleasures for divers and snorkelers. The lodge is nestled amongst the coconut groves. There are many actives to be enjoyed within the area such as snorkeling, scuba diving, catamaran yacht charter, boat fishing and sightseeing. Quad bike through the coconut plantations and local villages, following these tracks and paths allows one to experience the real Mozambique. Take a trip on a dhow and feel a great sense of history as the dhows are still built as they were in ancient times. This is something that must be experienced before this age old tradition dies out.
