Baobab Beach is situated directly on the beach and just a kilometre from the colourful market in Vilanculos, Mozambique. The lodge looks out over the azure seas and shifting sands of the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Facilities at the lodge include a restaurant with a bar, a communal kitchen, communal ablutions and transport to buses. Accommodation consists of Beachfront Chalets, Ethnic Huts, Dormitories, Camping and Overlander Sites. There is an Internet cafe on-site with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

We serve a wide variety of dishes such as burgers, steaks, seafoods, salads and pizzas in our restaurant. We also have a fully stocked bar available keeping in with the beach vibe. There is a communal kitchen available with all self-catering needs. We do not allow open fires near the chalets or the huts due to fire hazard. Activities in the area include diving, snorkelling, island hops, dhow trips, horse riding, fishing and village tours.

My husband and I enjoyed our time at this well organised backpackers. The beach front chalets were great with spectacular views across to the islands of the Bazaruto archipelago.

Erasmus family Baobab Beach experience by

Baobab was our second stop during our Vilanculos visit, and found it to be a great and fun experience. The location is right on the beach, and the perfect spot to snap some beautiful sunrise photos with the islands in the distance. Although the area is riddled with charter boats to the islands and local fishing boats and Dows, they were not a nuisance, and actually provided some very nice photo opportunities. The lodge itself is very well laid out, with very friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities and pool, and great food and drink, and don't forget those amazing hammocks!! We really enjoyed our stay at Baobab. We had some noisy overland tourists which had way too much to drink causing some discomfort (not the lodge's fault), but they were quickly confronted by the security and management, who sorted the noise makers out swiftly and professionally, which everybody in the campsite appreciated greatly. Baobab lodge will definitely be on our list on our next vacation in 2018, and I will recommend this lodge to anybody that would like to take in the sites and sounds of Vilanculos, in a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and right at home. Thank you Baobab Beach!!

What a perfect setting! Everything is perfect and so nice to meet other people from all over the world. Nice staff room was spotless everyday clean sheets nothing is to much and manager Marina really take time to have a chat and makes you feel very welcome! Will go again ?
