Baobab Farm Cottages offers comfortable and peaceful accommodation, only 40 km from Groblersburg / Martin's Drift border posts, and makes for a great stopover if you are heading towards Botswana or Zimbabwe.

Three cottages are set on the same premises at the farmhouse, but each has their own garden. The other three cottages are set on their own farmyard, away for the main buildings.

Wake up in the mornings with bird song and the typical farm sounds. Each cottage is unique with its own farm-style and beautiful interior. View the open sky filled with stars from around a bushveld fire, or in the swimming pool on a warm summer's evening.

We offer hiking, bird watching and other various activities on the working farm. Or take up the challenge of hunting bush buck in our unspoilt setting, we have a professional hunter that will ensure a great African hunt.

The location is quite close to border between South Africa and Botswana. The apartment was quite duty and cold. A lot of insects inside that didn't gave us to sleep. The rooms are very dark. The food and service were good but the place is not agreeable enough.

Homely peaceful and the tranquility of the place makes one to forget the busy noisy city life and enjoy nature at its best.We enjoyed seeing some bucks along the road, zebras and boomslang passed across the road whilst we were driving to the cottage, nice experience indeedThe road from main tarred road to the lodge is the only bad thing to thing to report about, I would advise people not to visit the cottage with a sedan car rather use a 4X4 van.


SURPRISE, SURPRISE! by

We stayed overnight at Baobab on the 24th February. Anel contacted us to find out how long it would take to our destination and switched the aircons on so that the cottage would be cool upon our arrival! Now, that's service!

Upon arrival, we were told that we had been upgraded to the family cottage free of charge! What a lovely surprise. Then another surprise of an offer for a meal.

Although the accommodation is not 5-star, it is clean and very comfortable in beautiful surroundings and the hosts make up for it by really going the extra mile for their guests. 

This is a birding destination that will make any Twitcher's toes curl! We chalked up 30 species in a half an hour walk around the property and surrounding areas. We were so impressed with the accommodation and the excellent service that we stayed there on our return journey on 28th February as well. This had not been booked and we arrived quite late, but once again we were treated like royalty, upgraded and offered a meal at 8.30 at night!

What a great place to stop over! We will most definitely be returning on future trips to Botswana and Namibia or even just for a weekend in tranquil surroundings.

The road is the only thing that is a problem, 7KM of corrugation is not pleasant and the last thing you remember
