Hidden amongst the sand dunes on the private Barra Peninsula of Mozambique lies Barra Dunes resort, one of the many hidden gems in Mozambique. It is ideal for families and groups looking for a secluded seaside holiday.

There are six spacious guest houses on the property, of which all have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each house has an open-plan living area which consists of a comfortable lounge and additional sleeping space. A fully equipped kitchen is also available for all your self-catering needs.

The wooden deck not only provides an outside seating area, it is also the perfect spot to appreciate the beautiful ocean views. Guests can take a short walk down to the beach and take a dip in the warm Indian Ocean.

Activities in the area include swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. Ocean safaris can also be arranged on request and provide the perfect opportunity to view the amazing sea life that this region has to offer.

Stay at Barra Dunes disappointed by

Place is advertised with aircon, but the aircon has not worked for years. The house was not clean and the inside of the cupboards were dirty. The bath could not be used for the first week as the water were running down the passage to the main bedroom. There were flees in the mattresses and the whole family were bitten badly. we had to spray the mattresses ourselves and than only did it stop. The outside shower did not work and we had to fix it ourselves. For the amount of money you pay for a December stay it is just not worth the money specially if you have to do maintenance yourself. The stove are in a bad way, we had to buy a stove to make our stay more comfortable.

Live on the beach by

Waking up each morning to the sound of the waves, long walks on the beach, swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, friendly locals ......

The beautiful surroundings by

We loved everything about it. the houses, the view, the island trips, the food, etc!
