Bastiaanskloof is situated in the historic and picturesque mountain pass of Bainskloof and forms part of one of eight areas in South Africa that are designated by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
The lovely Bastiaanskloof offers guests a choice of staying in one of four lovely cottages or the beautiful India House, all fully equipped for self-catering. India House consists of three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The two main bedrooms have underfloor heating as well as outdoor showers. The kitchen is equipped a stove, oven, microwave, fridge and a lovely fireplace, and guests can dine alfresco in the courtyard which also has barbecue facilities. The lounge is equipped with a TV, DVD player and a selection of DVDs. India House also has a swimming pool and a large veranda.
Cottages 1, 2 and 3 sleep between four and six guests and are furnished with comfortable queen-size or single beds. Each cottage also has a kitchen that is equipped with a stove, oven, microwave and fridge. The Kraal Cottage has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and guests have access to a river pool. Situated in beautiful surroundings, guests are invited to set the table outside under the stars and enjoy long meals with plenty of wine and conversation under the stars.
Bastiaanskloof boasts access to spectacular mountain trails and two perennial rivers; the Witte River and the Bastiaanskloof River. Over 800 species of fynbos and a wide range of fauna including leopards, klipspringers, eagles, tortoises, jackals and bats can be found in the area.
