Just 1 kilometer away from Boknesstrand's blue-flag beach, the Beach Home is ideal for a family holiday by the seaside with enough room for eight guests.

Well equipped for self-catering, this holiday house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The living room offers DStv at an extra cost. A dish washer, washing machine, iron and ironing board are also available. Outside there is a neatly kept lawn and lots of shade, camping chairs are available for the braai area, in the store room.

Part of the Ndlambe Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape, the small town of Boknesstrand is close to Cannon Rocks, Kenton-on-Sea, Alexandria, Bushman's River Mouth and Port Alfred.

Ideal for those wanting to escape the crowds and commotion of holiday resorts, the town has a variety of hiking trails with a number of outings available from the nearby areas.

Beach Home far from the Beach by

The advertisement for this "Beach Home" is misleading. It states that it is 70 meters from the beach, but is about 1 km. The DSTV is not included in the price either.

The washing machine and dish washer were most welcome, but we couldn't find an iron or ironing board. 

After we paid the deposit, we received a list of what to bring along, and if we came by air, (as we usually do) we would have had a problem. You must provide your own towels, duvet cover, pillow cases and sheets (which were not mentioned).

I think it should be mentioned that the house is planned like a back packer's unit and if you are more than two people you have to walk through everybody's bedroom to reach the kitchen, or you have to go via the stoep. Each room has an outside door and doors which connect one room to the other.

There are very few serving dishes, most of them without lids. The couch and chairs are quite uncomfortable to sit on. The dilapidated couch on the stoep doesn't look so good.

The braai area is nice and protected from the wind, but camping or plastic chairs would have been more comfortable in stead of the dining chairs one has to use.

The house was clean and neat.

We loved staying at the Beach Home. Neat, comfortable & close to the beach. Thank you Celeste!

House laout impractical by

Bedroom layout totally impractical. Middle room needs to go through another room to access bathroom. Last room neefs to go through both rooms to access kitchen. One toilet wasn't working. Damp sea smell was overwhelming in cupboards.
