BeMyGuest is a small Upington guest house, placed in modern suburbia. We are situated a mere five minute walk from the new Kalahari Mall, a two-minute drive from the city centre, private hospital and petrol station, as well as being en route to Upington Airport.

BeMyGuest offers its exclusive Garden Rooms, with private entrances, a view of the garden, en-suite bathrooms, and secure parking. Accommodation is suitable for up to two people or a small family, and offers an extensive array of superb facilities such as DStv, air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, linen and towels, coffee and tea-making facilities, and the daily newspaper. The pool is available for use by guests at all times and on request a laundry service, wake-up call, and barbecue facility can by organized.

Local tourist attractions include Augrabies Waterfalls, Kgalagadi Trans Frontier Park, Orange River Wine Cellars, and the South African Dried Fruit Co-op. After a long Kalahari day, visitors can relax with a sunset cruise on the Orange River.

Even though we could not stay at BmyGuest due to building alterations, Isabel went out of her way to get us in elsewhere and even came with us and introduced us to our host.

Excellent, neat and tidy. Clean and very friendly. Excellent hospitality breakfast. 5 star!

TRAUMATIZED by

The stay was good until Saturday night when two nasty and traumatic incidents occured. Saturday night after attending a function we arrived past twelve at the guest house just to find out that my parking allocated to me was occupied by someone else. I tried to make contact with the guesthouse but to no avail. We went to sleep but I was very worried about my vehicle being parked outside the yard. Round about 02h05 am we experienced an attempted break-in. When I opened the curtain infront of the door I saw a guy with a yellow rake right infront of me. Luckily for me and my lady friend, he ran away. Still TRAUMATIZED!

It is with the deepest regret that we receive your feedback.  Please check our previous reviews and you will know that we strive to do our best for each and every guest.
We have exactly the number of parking spaces equal to the number of rooms, and 4 more space at our private entrance, therefore a parking space must have been available to park your vehicle off-street.  We also live on the premises and we have a bell at the diningroom door, to reach us, if we unfortunately  do not answer a call at 01h00 in the morning. If we recall the incident correctly, the hostess on duty, responded to your call immediately, once you called our land-line number and parked your vehicle personally, off-street, for you.

Our guesthouse is situated in a quiet suburb, but we live in a crime-ridden South Africa and Upington is unfortunately not a quiet little town any more and guesthouses are targeted. The security of our guests and their vehicles are of utmost importance to us.  For that reason we have a 8 feet high wall, surrounding our premises, with palisade gates locked either with a padlock or remote control and a security company monitering our premises.   The incident was isolated and out of our control.  We now also installed cameras and motion sensors on the premises, for added security.  We are also handling the situation in connection with sergant Block and Colonel Raaff, from the local SAPD, who is doing a wonderful job to prevent any similar insidents.

Our sincere apology for your trauma, but as you know, this is happening throughout South Africa and we as citizens can only do so much to secure our ourselves.  We are truly doing our best to keep our guests as safe as possible.

Great accommodation in a very clean, well maintained guesthouse with nice garden, pool and braai facilities. Very helpful and friendly service. Can definitely recommend!
