BLACKBRICK SANDTON RESENSIES (60 %) Great establishment Booking process needs work by Dillen Breitenbach Sunday, 11 September 2022 The hotel was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, Travelstart advertised that the room sleeps 3 adults. After I booked for 3 adults and paid for my room, I received an email from the hotel stating that the room only sleeps 2.
It was an absolute mission trying to sort this out and eventually I conceded for 2 adults as it was getting closer to the stay date. Travelstart (Safarinow) has no call center to call, and you are left in the dark until someone emails you. Eventually I started cutting the agent out and working directly with the hotel. The agent did phone once and gave me a whole speech on how it's the hotel and how she will fix this and fight for 3 people but if it is too hard, she will concede for 2 (as per my request). However, it took the agency so long to get options on the table and letting me the customer know. A day before I was supposed to check in, I did not even know if I had a booking
I would not recommend this agency for anyone looking for an issue free booking process and would recommend checking with the accommodation how much the rooms actually sleep to avoid confusion.
Additionally, blackbrick Sandton is also not innocent as when I complained about the room now only sleeping 2, they automatically cancelled my booking without my consent or without even discussing it first. This was after I paid and without due reason.
The hotel is definitely worth it for Instagram pictures, but I think the agent and the hotel staff needs to get training on the South African Consumer Laws as with my booking they are in direct violation. Unfortunately, what was advertised was not what I received and I as the consumer had to compromise in order to stay at a picture worthy hotel. BLACKBRICK SANDTON LIGGING
