Brandvlei Accommodation is a fully furnished self-catering house that is an ideal stopover location for guests travelling either north or south. It is 150 km from Calvinia in the south, and 150 km from Kenhardt in the north, making it an ideal halfway stop.

The house can accommodate up to ten guests and comprises five bedrooms, two bathrooms, three toilets, and a kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen is well-equipped and features a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee machine and all other necessities. On arrival there will be freshly baked bread, home-made jams, and coffee or tea. The establishment is self-catering, but meals can be arranged at very reasonable rates.

The rooms are big and modern, fully carpeted, and nicely decorated. There is also a pool table to keep you entertained. The property is fully enclosed and is close to the police-station so it's quite safe.

Brandvlei is a safe town. A good place to overnight if you want to reach Cape Town the next day.



Plek was wel netjies en skoon, maar baie verwaarloos. Albei toilette is stukkend en moes my man probeer regmaak sodat ons dit net vir die dag kon gebruik. Die stoof deur is ook stukkend en val letterlik uitmekaar uit. Plek-plek het teels afgeval. Bedrag van R200 p/p/d is dan te veel vir wat ons gekry.

Nice people, excellent room, beautiful garden - photo on left does harm to how nice the guesthouse actually looks. A Signboard could improve locating the place, especially in the dark.

WE DINT STAY DARE IT WASN'T SAFE TO STAY DARE THE PICTURE ON THE INTERNET IS NOT GOOD THE PLACE IS VERY DIRTY EN ER WAS A BREAK IN THE WINDOW WAS BROKEN IN TO WE WERE FORCE TO STAY ELSWARE BECAUSE THERE WAS NOBODY DARE

Double booking! Got transferred to backpackers type accommodation by

Upon driving into Brandvlei and calling to hear where the house were, we were told that there was a double booking and that we will have to stay at Casablanca, which is a cheaper backpacker type accommodation, that smelled really bad. We had to share the house with another couple (although they were quite nice). Its not what we wanted, and the reason why we tried to book an entire self catering unit for ourselves. I am am not sure if this Brandvlei Accommodation unit is also a shared unit. This is not specified on the website anywhere, so I suggest you phone and find these things out. Only good thing that I can mention is that the "owner" who met us seemed nice and brought us a fresh loaf of bread. We appreciate that thanks.
