Damascus Bush en Mountain View Lodge Cyclist Retreat ?Skeerpoort, North West Province, South Africa Lodge (familie-eenhede vanaf R 980) | R 980 |
Damascus Bush and Mountain View Lodge is situated at the foot of a 3000-million year old quartzite mountain; better known as the Magaliesberg. This private luxurious lodge is situated along the southern face of an age-old mountain range with quartzite cliffs which boasts spectacular scenery.
It is only five kilometres away from the very popular tourist town of Hartbeespoort, and the Cradle of Humankind and Sun City are a few hours' drive, making the lodge a destination of choice in the North West Province of South Africa. The location is an easy one-hour driving distance from Johannesburg and offers visitors privacy at their own leisure, tranquility, and peace of mind in the undisturbed grasslands.
Damascus Bush and Mountain View Lodge provides a luxurious setting with six en-suite rooms, all designed to offer maximum privacy. With the spacious self-catering kitchen, separated cosy boma area, plunge pool, and open sky showers, guests can enjoy a restful time around the 100 year-old eucalyptus trees or alternatively indulge in mountain bike rides of over 100 km in and around surrounding farm areas. Damascus caters for mountain bikers offering group cyclists packages. With health boxes as gifts and massages on request, the experience will be the best ever after a tiresome bike ride.
The name "Damascus" reflects a renewed experience and the lodge was designed with this as an architectural inspiration. With steel, iron rock and a diversity of natural materials the exterior and interior designs bring just that to the visitor. Time here gets defeated by nature's over-abundance of offerings, light, space, and utmost quiet surrounds with only nature's pure voice in the background.
For the adventure seeker the activities are endless; there are the Magalies Canopy Tours, Bill Harrops Ballon Safaris, Elephant Sanctuary, Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, Pilanesberg National Park, Predator Park, De Wildt Cheetah Farm, Bush Babies Monkey Sanctuary, horse riding and quad biking, boat cruises on the Hartbeespoort dam; and over five golf courses within a radius of 50 km.
