Darini

The Darini house is located in Lamu on Lamu Island off the north-eastern coast of Kenya. The house offers luxury accommodation for four people. All your needs will be attended to by the staff to ensure a relaxing holiday.

Darini is an old renovated Swahili house. The majestic old stone house now has a private garden with a pool amidst the traditional red beams and vidakas, decorative shelves in the thick stone walls.

The house has three large bedrooms and is fully staffed with a chef, stewards, laundry ladies, a captain, and a manager for your convenience. Your cook is trained to run all errands and prepares all meals for you. You can select your meals from our guideline menu and you will be served in a private dining area. Food is charged at cost and recorded in a book of accounts.

We will ensure that you are met at the Manda/Lamu airport by one of our staff members who will escort you to the traditional boat and take you to Shela. From here you will be escorted to the house.

Lamu Island offers a variety of festivals throughout the year and has many activities to keep you busy. Guests can snorkel on the reefs or swim with the dolphins, enjoy a sunset cruise or simply explore the island. All activities can be arranged through the house manager on your request.
