A secure lodge in Port Edward on the famous Natal South Coast, situated on the renowned Old Point Road leading to the Umtamvuna River. De Novo Lodge is located in idyllic subtropical surroundings with lush vegetation. This gives the lodge a unique, scenic and untouched nature.

A wide variety of bird life is found here and this makes the area a bird lover's paradise. The park-like gardens gives a restful and serene atmosphere. There is a fresh water swimming pool on the grounds and lots of room for the kids to play. Colourful flowers and cycads are just some of the flora on the grounds. The grounds are neat and paved around the units and 24-hour security patrols as well as a sophisticated alarm system take the worry away.

The braai facilities, washing line and laundry facilities are available to all guests. We have four self-catering units that sleep a maximum of four persons per unit, and a unit for overnight guests.

Our self-catering units are fully equipped with all the modern conveniences needed to make your holiday as carefree as possible.

We enjoyed our stay, finding the owners most helpful, friendly and informative. The wild fowl sancturary was most interesting. The chalets comfortable with everything one needs for a short stay. We wish them every success with this delightful venture. Frank and Rosemary

Very neat and tidy room on beautiful premises. Very friendly reception by pets and owners. Can recommend it to anybody.

Festive Season Girl's Trip by

The girls and I had an absolutely epic time at De Novo Lodge. Our host Shane and his family (and dogs) were very friendly and accommodating. We had complete privacy and everything we need for a comfortable stay was available to us. The bird life surrounding us (especially the beautiful peacock) was quite a lovely sight. We will be back again soon :)



A nice place to be,rooms are neat and staff are too friendly.I would go again there if its possible.
