The Die Bushuis, situated in Sutherland, used to be a bus depot which transported post and passengers.

This now transformed bus depot has a room and a main house. The room accommodates two guests, has an en-suite bathroom and is fully self-catering; the main house accommodated four guests, has one bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge with a fireplace. The Bushuis also offers guests braai facilities.

Attractions in and around Sutherland include the Ouberg Pass, the Tankwa Karoo National Park and the SA Astronomical Observatory.

Very quaint and comfortable. Interesting place - indoor braai/cooking fire.
Lovely homely feel. Welcoming.
Double bed Mattress seriously needs replacing though.

To all the English readers; I just want to say that The Bushuis is really worth a visit and excellant value for money. But I have to say the rest in Afrikaans.           Op Vrydag 2016-07-22 so naby 6 uur die aand trek ek op by die Bushuis in Sutherland en word baie vriendelik ontvang, die gasvrou neem ons vir n vinnige deurloop van die perseel en wys ons waar alles is en ook waar die hout is. Na ons klaar afgelaai is steek ek sommer dadelik n vuur aan in die binne braai in die kombuis area, die vuur verwarm vinnig die hele vertrek, ons sit lekker en kaart speel in die hitte van die vuur. Slaaptyd kom en jy klim in n lekker warm bedjie met die warmlakken aan. Saterdag loop ons heeldag rond en besoek n paar interresante snuitery winkels en ook die Sterrewag. Gaan kyk toe die Rugby by n plaaslike sports bar en geniet daar n heerlike pizza. Terug by die Bushuis steek ons toe die tweede kaggel in die sitkamer aan en kuier weer lekker rondom die vuur. Sondagoggend staan ons op met al die waterpype gevries wwens die nag se koue, die motorkar ook duk van die ys.   Die pBushuis het  my laat dink aan oumagrootjie se khuis. Met n koolstoof in die kombuis en n regte huis regte goeie huislike gevoel. Ons naweek wegbreuk het ons baie lekker uitgerus gelaat. Baie dankie vir n heerlike naweek.



Lovely stay in Sutherland by

Lovely place to stay - the BIG indoor braai and electric blankets definitely a plus for the ice cold weather that we experienced.

What a disappointment by

This was digs for backpackers.
