Die Paalhys is a Canadian type fully equipped solid log home overlooking un-obstructed natural mountain terrain. The house is set in the quite village of Kaapsehoop where horses run free and the cool morning mist creates a magical setting in the mountains.

The house has two bedrooms and an open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a deck. The open-plan kitchen includes an old-style six-seater dining room table adjacent to the lounge with a television, local channels only. There is two additional sleeper couches for children in the large double volume lounge area. The huge deck area has a Webber braai and views of the natural surroundings. Covered paring is provided.

The small village offers many trails and restaurants run by the local residents creating a homely atmosphere to enjoy a peaceful vacation.

A wonderful and cosy place to stay for whatever reason. Owners are very welcoming. The house has everything your home has and a bonus view of the town and area!

What a wonderful place to stay. It has all the benefits of being spacious, light, extremely well equipped and filled with character and charm. The owner went beyond the call of duty by providing us with a gas stove and candles during the three hour load shedding episode. I will not hesitate to go back there and to recommend it to anyone else.

Comfy stay in Kaapsehoop by

Die Paalhys is really beautiful, well equipped and spacious, making it a very comfy stay away from home. The owner made sure we had enough wood to keep the fire going on the first night and there were electric blankets on the beds. It is a lovely unit, catering for every possible need. The only negative point: we weren't aware that the ground floor is a permanent residence. Unfortunately the unit is not sound resistant at all, so we could hear every word of every conversation the owners had downstairs until they went to bed at night, taking something away from the exceptional quietness that Kaapsehoop is renowned for. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
