Perfect Family Holiday Location by

Dinonyane Bush Lodge is the perfect location for a family or group getaway. Only an 1-2 hours drive from JHB. Comfortable rooms, with enough space for 5 couples. Plus extra beds for kids. Wonderful Boma area with seating, braai as well as fire area. And for those that need it... a TV. The only downfall of this lovely Lodge is the reserve it is in. If you want to see game, one needs to pay for a game drive at a neighbouring reserve. There apparently is a self drive road, which we could not find, or get hold of anyone to assist us in doing so. Highly recommend a visit! But be prepared to pay R175 - R200 for a game drive

Dinokeng is a wonderful reserve close to Pretoria - but, the pictures in the advert were not a true reflection of the lodge - table and chairs rickety, "concrete couches very hard, cushions very thin - pool small - kitchen "rustic" - fridge way too small to accomodate all guests food needs - units are very basic and a bit disjointed. TV not working. Owner kept on harrassing us for proof of payment of the final payment, which we had sent thru' on a phone number he had emailed to me but didnt check it. this all over Christmas? not again thank you! please note tho' the staff were friendly and obliging. the animal sightings from the boma was spectacular and the bird life wonderful. We stayed at Phumba Lodge last year for the same price and same time much better value for money. We as a family love Dinokeng but will be a lot more cautious in future when booking out a lodge. we were a family of 11 ranging from 20 - 70 years.
