ELANDSKLOOF TROUT FARM/FOREL PLAAS RESENSIES (67 %) Enjoyed the stay by Anonymous, South Africa 18 February 2008 Elandskloof is stunning, and there is a lot to do for a family, it was peaceful and just what we looked for, the animals are all so tame and the donkeys, geese, ostrich came right up to the children and was very gentle, really a big treat. The establishment in general is very tidy and well looked after but I was not so happy with the chalet (accommodation) as I had a crawling 11 month old and the chalet was not clean, there were a lot of spiders and cobwebs, I was very uneasy at night, it was very old but I see they are busy renovating and the new chalets looks much better, they also used that photos on the website, so pictures can be very deceiving, but we still enjoyed the stay and would go again, but stay in a newer Chalet. Very Enjoyable by Alan Westwood, South Africa 04 March 2008 Thank you for a wonderful get away will definitely return Peaceful Farm life at its best by Ian Grant 09 January 2018 My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stayed. We were particularly pleased with the Die Houthuis and would recommend it to anyone looking for a country cabin breakaway. Die Plaashuis is somewhat run down and could do with a bit of refreshing but was adequate nonetheless. We will definitely be returning, to Die Houthuis. Peaceful & Relaxing by Bernice Smith 13 January 2018 We loved our short stay there. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and there were nice facilities for our little boy. Beautiful surroundings and challenging fishing. Joy was helpful with hiking and surrounds info. Will definitely be back! Set in a beautiful valley by Charles Breen 16 February 2018 Petals and bottle of champagne for Valentines day ! The farm has beautiful surroundings! by Jh-ann Gouws 11 March 2018 We loved waking to quiet nature sounds. The fields and dams are gorgeous.
The braaiplace at the cottage needs a serious upgrade, we couldn't braai as the grid was way to high to heat the meat and lots of the other braaiplaces were not cleaned properly. The fireplace also does not air properly, so smoke filled the place. Friendly and Secret Hideaway piece of heaven by Maria Samuel 03 April 2018 The Cottage have all you need, clean, beautiful landscape pictures, stunning dam views, staff really going extra mile and they have stock supplies.... ice, wood and warm fresh home made bread... Heaven The scenery there is beautiful by Louise Pieterse 02 May 2018 The rondavel was a bit cold. We also did not know that the ablution would be seperate , but we adjusted to it.
The ablution can maybe be upgraded.
The gravel road was also at some places very bad, so it can also be scraped maybe. Tranquility by Benita Van Aardt 05 July 2018 Availability of facilities can improve. Service of chalets were excellent ! Fireplace was lovely to have!
Their pet friendly policy indicates that if your dog damage anything on the property, that you will be liable for damage, I am just wondering who is liable for tha damage on my car caused by their dog, bumping into my car, wanting to attack my dog, while my partner went into the office to check in. Either change policy to not pet friendly, or remove vicious dog. Besides the cost of our holiday we need to claim from our insurance to repair the scratches and dent. Not even an apology was offered, I was only instructed to move my car further from reception. Really beautiful surroundings by Freude Bertram 10 July 2018 Staff was really friendly, farm safe and relaxing, nice braai areas and very close to Dullstroom despite 8km dirt road to main road. Rondavel was very basic though, and access to hot water for shower had been a constant challenge. ELANDSKLOOF TROUT FARM/FOREL PLAAS LIGGING
