Welcome to Falangisina Guest House at historic Bailey's Cottage. On a rocky outcropping, nestled against the Muizenberg shore, is a quaint, stone bungalow of historic importance. Bailey's Cottage, with its thatched roof, relaxed conservatory, and cosy fireplace, is the ideal location in which to escape.

Overlooking ?surfer's corner', the cottage grants easy access to the rock pools and beach below, while the promenade invites you to take a stroll to the charming towns of Muizenberg and Kalk Bay.

The cottage itself consists of three bedrooms, and sleeps six guests. Full linen and towels are provided, and each room comes complete with a heater for those colder winter nights. As a heritage building, there is only one bathroom, with tub facilities, but the living room offers the modern conveniences of satellite TV and a DVD player.

The self-catering kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and dryer, while the six-seater, mahogany dining table and amazing granite-top bar provide the perfect location for indoor entertaining. Outside, what South African holiday destination would be complete without the mandatory braai area from which to enjoy a few drinks, and the beautiful undisturbed ocean view.

Living on the sea by

The sound of the ocean everywhere in the house - awesome! Note for future is to rather bring own bath towels, had to go and buy some since SafariNow said it was provided yet only 3 hand towels were provided.

Location, location, location! by

Stunning location, quaint building and decor, but very concerned about security. However, still loved a very relaxing couple of days on a lovely bit of coastline.

Being able to stay in a historical property I've admired from afar since childood by

Loved the rich history; loved the crisp sea air and the home's idyllic location; loved the friendly and helpful host. Overall, we found the price per night too steep because what was promised was not available: although the rooms were spotless and comfortable, the towels were damp, there was no tea , coffee or sugar, nor any wines, which had been advertised as for purchasing on the honesty-system; and an empty soap -dispenser in the bathroom. This didn't spoil the beauty of the cottage itself nor the enjoyability of our stay, but a R2500 price tag raises certain expectations. Quality "little touches" are readily to be found in other more luxurious establishments that cost the same, but were unfortunately lacking here. Cheryl Bluff

This place is amazing to stay at we had a great time. It's located on the rocks. However 3 days after we checked out, the smaller cottage that the caretaker resides in was burgled and he had accused us of this crime because we showed an "interest" in the cottage after we checked out. Therefore as amazing as the stay was we won't be visiting as long as he resides there.
