Far Away Place offers gay-owned self-catering cottages, with beautiful views of our dam (DASHY Cottage), & a dam for trout fishing. We adjoin a large pine forest & both DASHY & NGUNI Cottage have views to the Karkloof Mountains. Chill. Breathe. Relax in style! Relax in the HAMMOCK CHAIRS which hook up on the patio to enjoy the peace, views & splendor that is NATURE. Both cottages have 2 BRAAIS - a closed one on the patios & another in the garden.

DASHY cottage can accommodate up to 5 guests & comprises 2 bedrooms (one a loft room), 1 bathroom, & an open-plan kitchen & living area. The main bedroom contains a QUEEN XL & while the second loft style bedroom contains a double & a single bed - all linen is 600 thread count Egyptian Cotton. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a toilet & a washbasin. Feel chilly? We offer a fire place & gas heaters.

NGUNI Cottage is a luxury 6-sleeper unit offering a main bedroom with en-suite shower & toilet, an outdoor shower with hot & cold water & then another bedroom upstairs. Both bedrooms have QUEEN XL beds with 600 thread count Egyptian Cotton linen. The is a shared bathroom upstairs with a further 2 3/4 beds on the mezzanine floor.

The kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering & contain a gas stove, fridge freezer, convection microwave, kettle, toaster, & cutlery & crockery. The lounge has a comfy lounge suite & a large wall mounted flat screen 4K TV. There is no DStv or a satellite dish, however, the TV is a SMART TV - so feel free to bring your own content OR make use of the NETFLIX account we have loaded for your cottage of choice.

The open plan living areas in NGUNI & DASHY open up onto a stunning patio area which has outdoor patio furniture for you & your guests to enjoy. Both cottages have breath talking views - you will see why we called it FAR AWAY PLACE for yourself when you visit - it feels far away - but still in the HEART of the MIDLANDS. Enjoy hikes walks, our dams, the forest & views to forever down the KARKLOOF valley.

The cottage is a mere 5 km from Terbodore Coffee on Old Curry's Post Road, & a short 12 km drive into Nottingham Road. We are in the HEART of the KWAZULU NATAL MIDLANDS MEANDER - you will find our recommendations on places to eat and see on the MEANDER in the cottage.

We also now offer our own AIRFIELD effective from SEPTEMBER 2020 (runway 01 and 19) - so if you are an aviator looking for interesting destinations please come & check us out.
