Fordoun is a five star hotel and spa situated in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, 3 km from the N3 highway on a farm near Nottingham Road. We are one and a half hours from Durban and four hours from Johannesburg.
The buildings are a renovation created out of the original 1860s farmyard. Every suite is individually designed and themed with under floor heating in the bed and bathrooms, private verandas and there are huge gardens leading down to lake. We also have a charismatic restaurant, which stocks interesting wines and has a separate cigar lounge.
The spa was awarded 'South Africa's Best Destination Spa 2006'. Guests staying at Fordoun have free use of the heated pool, saline floatation pool, sauna, steam rooms and gym. Guests requiring specific spa treatments must book these at least a week in advance of the date of arrival.
Fordoun is famed for our traditional healing plant garden, which has 140 varieties of healing plants and a resident Sangoma, Dr Elliot Ndlovu.
