Franschhoek Travellers' Lodge is housed in an historic old school hostel and provides comfortable, affordable 2-star accommodation for individuals and groups.

Offering 78 beds the rooms sleep either two, four, six or eight people. A few of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, while the othere make use of communal bathrooms. There are two self-catering family suites as well as a communal kitchen for the dorms.

Franschhoek Travellers' Lodge is located close to town, close to shops and restaurants, but away from the busy traffic. There is safe parking in the lodge grounds.

Great for affordable accommodation by

The establishment is situated withing walking distance to the main road in Franschoek. One can not get away from the boarding school feel of the place, but overall a pleasant experience. The room was basic and clean, the shared bathrooms were also very clean. What one saves on accommodation is well worth splashing out on the lovely restaurants and taking advantage of the wine tasting in the area not to mention a visit to the Hugeunot museum.

The lodge was adequate and had friendly, helpful service however the cleanliness of the shared bathrooms, particularly the showers, was bad.



It's nothing fancy, but was completely adequate for my requirements. It's within walking distance of all the popular restaurants and the popular wine tram. I booked the double bed with en-suite bathroom which gave me enough privacy and was comfortable.
