Galu is located on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya, some 40 km south of Mombasa. Galu Beach is located next to Diani Beach, and is a popular tourist destination most of the year. Some of the 5 Star hotels close to the golf course also have casinos where you can try your luck at the roulette and black jack tables. In addition, guests have a choice of several shopping centres along the beach road, well-stocked to meet all daily requirements. At two of the bigger shopping centres guests will find all sorts of food, clothing, souvenirs, handicrafts, banks, ATMs, a postal service, medical and dental facilities, Internet, travel and car rental services. Along the beach road, small buses called "Matatu" in Swahili provide transport up and down and are available all day long.
Along the beach are five scuba diving schools offering diving lesson and five deep-sea fishing clubs that offer all types of diving services and training, while within two to four hours' drive, guests can visit famous game parks such as Shimba Hills, Tsavo-East and Tsavo-West.
