Situated on Glen Afton Farm, a little over 2 km from the N3 Freeway and 10 km from the village of Nottingham Road, Glen Afton Country House is at the hub of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. We offer three luxury double rooms and two family units each sleeping four, all with full en-suite bathrooms, bath and shower in each. Each suite is individually and tastefully furnished and offers coffee and tea making facilities, reading matter and gas heaters and down duvets for the cold winter nights.

Patio rooms overlook one of the attractive dams on the farm. After a hearty breakfast, served either on the front verandah or in the elegant dining room, guests may take a leisurely stroll around the 80ha farm, spot any of over 130 species of birds, a variety of buck, other small game or our farm animals, fly-fish in one of three trout dams or try a hand at pool or snooker on a full-size billiard table. For the more adventurous and energetic, Glen Afton Country House is the ideal base from which to explore the many delights of the Midlands and Central Drakensberg area, all in close proximity.

The Battlefields Route is also easily accessible for day trips. Glen Afton Country House offers the perfect retreat with peace and tranquillity, comfort and convenience. Enjoy cozy log fires in winter and sumptuous country breakfasts, with home-cooked dinners by arrangement. Hosts Alan and Julia guarantee friendly, personal service and traditional country hospitality at all times.

Beautiful surroundings by

Lovely bedroom. We stayed in a family suite. Breakfast was delicious. Our children loved seeing the pony and dogs and cats and cows. The rooms look or onto the dam which is really beautiful. I would stay again.

Beautiful relaxing place to stay by

Out hostess, Julia was a gem and so friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. The room was most comfortable and the view, some of it in the mist for us, was lovely. We were sorry to leave.
