Gumtree Manor

Gumtree Manor is sandwiched between the Swartberg and Kammanassie Mountains, and perched-out 15 m above the waters of the Stompdrift Dam. This three-bedroom timber cabin was built largely from recycled materials and occupies a truly special corner of our planet.

The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, a dressing table, a fan and has a sliding door leading onto the veranda. It has a full bathroom with both a shower and a large Victorian-style bath. The first guest bedroom is furnished with a double bed, it also has a fan and a sliding door opening onto the veranda. The second guest bedroom has two three-quarter beds and the guest bathroom has a shower.

The kitchen is well-equipped and has a gas hob fitted in a centre island, and an Oregan-pine dining table seating six comfortably. The lounge is fitted with a close-combustion fireplace and furnished with an oversize three-seater couch and two armchairs. It also has a HiFi system as well as a 32-inch flat screen TV connected to DStv, just bring your own decoder.

The cabin is protected from the wind with a half-moon shadecloth screen. There is a social boma braai area and there's a private staircase providing easy access to the water. The dam is perfect for skiing, canoeing, fishing or simply taking a cooling swim in the mineral laden waters.
