Hammerstein Lodge is situated between Swakopmund and Lüderitz and nestled between the Nubib and Tsaris mountains. We offer the ideal stopover for travellers to the south of Namibia as it is in close proximity to the beautiful Sossusvlei region and only 60 km from Sesriem.
Guests have a choice between self-catering bungalows or dinner, bed and breakfast lodging. We have three campsites which can be used in conjunction with the units for any extra guests. All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, double or twin beds and fans. We have a sparkling swimming pool and a beautiful garden. There is also a dining room, bar, bistro, lounge and braai area.
Guests will experience amazing encounters with our tame leopard, the cheetah, and our caracals. It is our combination of vast landscapes with outcrops of massive granite boulders and meeting wildlife in their natural habitat that makes a visit to Hammerstein Lodge a superb experience. A few kilometres from the lodge, the granite boulders with bushman paintings conjure up visions of a giant's playground. It is from one of these boulders ? an enormous rock shaped like a hammer ? that "Hammerstein" was derived.
Game viewing includes giraffe, red hartebeest, blesbuck, kudu, zebra and tame leopard, cheetah and caracals on the premises. Activities include game viewing, bushman painting excursions, balloon trips, walking trails, nature walks, sundowner drives into the mountains, 4x4 trips to Sussusvlei, birdwatching, hiking and walking.
