Hangklip House is an old radar station used in the Second World War and was built at this location specifically for the view. The now self-catering holiday house offers comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people and enjoys breath taking views of the ocean and lighthouses.This private and homely house is right in the middle of nature. It has three bedrooms and an open-plan lounge and dining room. For larger booking the adjacent flat is also included featuring an open plan layout with a Queen and single bed. Another unattached small bedroom with a double bed is available. The kitchen has all facilities for preparing meals. The dining room leads out onto a lath roofed patio at the back of the house with braai facilities. This is perfect for an evening braai.The upstairs flat has a pool table and a Darts board.The house is only 1 km from the beach with a panoramic view over False Bay. One can see three lighthouses from the house.Although accessible with any vehicle, high range vehicles are recommended. 4 x 4 not necessary.

If you feel like getting away from the maddening crowd and having a house all to yourself on a mountain top with sweeping views of the ocean in front of you and a majestic mountain in your backyard then this is the place for you! We LOVED our stay at Hangklip house! Thank yoU!



Hangklip House is the ideal getaway for a group of family or friends. You will have a main house with a lot of beds and sleeper couches available, and also a fully furnished flatlet with its own kitchen and bathroom. The whole property is very neat and well-equipped.

We were very impressed by the friendly proprietor and the fact that we could bring along our dogs. Unlike a number of places we stayed at before, the owner of Hangklip House understood that our dogs are part of the family and did not give us any hassle about it at all. One point to note is that the property is not fenced and that baboons roam that area of the mountain during certain times of the year. Dogs and small children should stay close and be watched by adults during those times.

A beautiful beach is just down the hill. It is also possible to follow a trail around the small peninsula, which is largely untouched by human influence. A huge advantage of Hangklip House is its total privacy. Our children, all students, especially enjoyed the fact that they could let their hair down without worrying about making a noise.

What makes Hangklip House stand out from other beach properties, are the breathtaking views. Just sitting in the lounge and taking in the view is enough to cleanse one's soul. This is a place where one can really breathe and relax. It is one of our favourites!
