Himeville Cottage is a charming and restful Cape Dutch farm-style self-catering cottage, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, in the picturesque southern Drakensberg. The cottage is located near to the Sani Pass, and the uKhahlamba World Heritage Site.

The cottage comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a TV room. The first and second bedrooms each contain a double bed, and the third bedroom contains twin single beds.

The cottage has two fireplaces for those chilly winter evenings, one in the lounge and one in the TV room. The dining area opens out to a lovely large undercover patio, with braai facilities and outdoor dining furniture. The patio overlooks a lush garden.

Inadequate by

We recently booked this cottage for one night and although it is pretty, the service and bedding provided was not up to standard.  Firstly, the directions were very vague with no house number and no cottage name, etc. Secondly, once we found the place on a very cold day, the bedding was completely inadequate (literally a sheet with a thin blanket).  We phoned the contact person and were told to search the cottage for more bedding.  We managed to get enough from other beds, which was not adequate, but we had to make do.

Fortunately, there were only two of us, so we only needed to use 1 of the 3 bedrooms, otherwise we would have had a real problem.



Weekend stay by

We were two couples 55+ age category.

We had a wonderful weekend at Himeville Cottage.  More than enough wood for the fire place, lots of blankets - we certainly weren't cold.

Highly recommended stay. Even got snow on Sani Pass!
