Hornbill House is in the small village of Hemel en Aarde between Hermanus and Onrus. Hornbill House has accommodation as well as a ceramic studio, an art gallery and a restaurant, making it a bountiful place to visit.
There are four units for guests to choose from. Two units accommodate up to two people, with the Garden unit taking up to four people and the Family unit taking up to eight people with prior arrangement. The units have private bathrooms with showers only as well as lounge areas and kitchenettes ideal for self-catering. Both the Jono unit and Cara unit are on the first floor and have off-street parking, while the Garden unit and the Family unit is on the ground floor with parking on the lawn.
Guests are able to watch the artists at work in the studio or spend some time browsing the art gallery and gift shop. Hornbill creates their own wines in a true garagiste tradition making them abundant in flavours. The restaurant, Season is a superb dinner option where guests can enjoy a meal with some of their local wine.
Hermanus is a short distance away and has many shops and restaurants. The local craft market is full of gift ideas and during parts of the year, the small town comes alive with the whale season.
