Set in the northern side of the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, this malaria free Big Five private game lodge is set in pristine African Wilderness. Surrounded by the Ancient Waterberg Mountains, abundant wildlife and unspoilt African bush, Jamila Game Lodge offers guests an intimate and relaxed safari experience.

Only 3 ½ hours' drive away from South Africa's largest city Johannesburg, makes Welgevonden one of the most accessible premier malaria free wilderness reserves in the country.

This traditional safari lodge offers 5 well appointed suites boasting exquisite views over the Waterberg biosphere. Offering an intimate and classic safari experience, guests are treated to 2 game drives a day conducted by the lodges' experienced and knowledgeable nature guide.

The reserve lies in the Waterberg plateau and Jamila Lodge is part of this conservation area that covers over 34, 850 hectares of game reserve. Home to over 50 different mammals, including the Big 5, guests enjoy unlimited traversing through the reserve and experience an environment where conservation and game viewing are managed in harmony.

Nice location by

Overall very good. Nice location and romantic chalets. Enjoyed the private Jacuzzi in the evenings after dinner. The game drives offered a lot of game especially rhino's on view. Only problem was the parking for your vehicle at the gate where your vehicle is left with no protection to the elements.

Perfect romantic getaway by

We enjoyed our stay immensely! We stayed in the Elephant Bugalow with stunning romantic décor and the private Jacuzzi was a winner. Lourens is a wonderful host and good chef; we had delicious meals. The rangers make the game drives very informative. We got to see all of the Big 5 during our three-night stay. You really get the feeling that you are part of the bushveld. The only hitch was the roadworks between Vaalwater and Nylstroom that prolonged our travelling time immensely, but when the roadworks are finished the road will be a dream.

We really felt at home, it was our first stay at a game lodge, we had wonderful game drives with Sam, wonderful dinner in such a wonderful place!

Wonderful experience by

Fantastic lodge, friendly, accommodating staff, very relaxing. The highlight would definitely be the private Jacuzzi on each chalet's deck. Will definitely be going back!
