JOHN BAUER POTTERY STUDIO RESENSIES (83 %) Amazing stay in the quiet neighbourhood of Claremont by Christopher Krause, South Africa 21 June 2016 The quiet, cute and welcoming home of John Bauer's Pottery Studio I found to be a lovely gem during my Capetown visit.
Both hosts were friendly and helpful from the first day to the last. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. With plenty of ways to add some heat over the cold winter nights.
To stay at John Bauer's is to immerse yourself in the Capetownian culture. Being the one of the design capitals of the world; you are given a chance to breath in the very essence of this as each room is covered in brilliant and amazing art, and furnished to satisfy both comfort and visual aesthetics. And many of the best local sights can be found within walking distance.
I highly recommend the kind comfort and warm pleasantries of this establishment and I will most certainly be back during my next visit.
Winter warmth with a touch of spice by Glynis Goyns, South Africa 11 August 2016 Wonderful sunny room with easy access to extra warmth in winter by way of a heater, waterbottles and extra blanket. Plenty of home comfort away from home and friendly, helpful hosts with the added spice of an arty flavour. Great stay! Close to everything by Elaine Cohen 17 July 2017 value for money, neat and clean Nothing by Vishnu Naudoo 22 November 2017 Booking was made on 30 August. Deposit of R1300 was paid. Balance to be paid at the service provider. On arrival, could not reach anyone. The contact number on your site, was John Bauer's wife's, which incidentally, is never answered. A kindly neighbour helped get hold of John Bauer. They claim that there was no record of our booking, despite providing proof, confirming same.
They managed to give us two nights in the booked room. Monday &Tuesday was double booked. They offered us, unconfirmed accommodation at The Drawing Room on 2nd, his wife's establishment. I was only e-mailed late on Sunday evening. I had, in the interim, secured accommodation on my own, elsewhere.
The twin beds were lumpy and my bed had a side bracket. This may seem arty, but was a nuisance, when you want to get on or off the bed. I also kept hurting my knee on this useless attachment. Did not have a good nights sleep, over the two nights . In the circumstances, I will never recommend this place to anyone. JOHN BAUER POTTERY STUDIO LIGGING
