Kareekloof Conservancy offers accommodation in a rustic cottage ideal for a group or family of four. Waterfall Cottage includes beautiful views of the conservancy, and guarantees a peaceful stay with no modern distractions or noises, and is ideal for a romantic getaway.
Located 15 kilometers into the reserve, guest travel on primitive gravel road leading to the cottage. The stone cottage has an open-plan living area with a stone fireplace with ample wood for the chilly nights. The ideal place to relax with a glass of wine by the fireside. The modest kitchen includes gas appliances including a double burner, fridge and gas heater for warm water. Included are paraffin lamps, plates and cutlery, saucepan, kettle, mugs and glasses. Guest will need to bring all their own food, candles and matches, drinks, soap, bedding and towels. Don't forget the swimming gear and hiking boots. The cottage also has a dining area and one bedroom with four single beds.
The conservancy has 80 recorded bird species that inhabit the conservancy. Guest can also encounter some indigenous wildlife such as rhebok, duikers, rock rabbits, caracals and leopard to name a few. Other species such as gemsbok, springbok and eland have also been successfully introduced to the conservancy which comprises four adjoining farms, and spans about 5,000 hectares.
