Karen Blixen Coffee Garden

The Historic Swedo House at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages was the original hunting lodge, which was built around 1906 to 1908. It is located approximately 500 m from the Karen Blixen museum, and is 15 minutes from downtown Nairobi.

The coffee garden is set on five and a half acres of land, with large trees that are over a 100 years old. We offer 16 en-suite rooms, one large Honeymoon Suite and three units which has two en-suite bedrooms with a joint sitting room. Extra beds can be added for small children. All the rooms are furnished with fireplaces, verandas, Satellite TVs, Wi-Fi, bar fridges and hair dryers.

Facilities on-site include a small gym, a health spa with a sauna, a lovely swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. Our restaurant offers late night room service and early morning breakfasts. Meals can be arranged in the main dining room, the bar, in the gardens or in the rooms.
