Karibu which means ?welcome' is a family home situated near the idyllic Southern Peninsula village of Kommetjie (on the exclusive Imoff's Gift estate). This traditional Cape house has all the creature comforts that you could wish for and is truly a home from home.The main family room looks out onto lush gardens leading down to a pristine lagoon set in a nature conservation area. Relax on the veranda and enjoy the breathtaking views of the famous Chapman's Peak whilst watching the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. Karibu is just a stones throw from two of the Cape's finest beaches, Noordhoek and Long Beach, both world renowned surf spots. The surrounding area is framed by fynbos covered mountains and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery that the Cape has to offer. A scenic drive of just 40 minutes takes you to the heart of Cape Town city centre and the Cape Town Stadium. The house is equipped with a security alarm system and is part of the secure compounded community of Imoff's Gift that benefits from an active Neighbourhood Watch scheme. Whilst the area is known for it's safety, this affords the visitor added peace of mind.Karibu is a self catering 3-bedroomed house, with open plan kitchen, living room and dining room. 3 bathrooms, 2 en suite with showers, and a family bathroom with bath. Imhoff's Gift is within easy reach of several of Cape Town's iconic sightseeing spots: Cape Point, Boulders Beach and its Penguin Colony, historic Simon's Town, and Chapman's Peak Drive. Kalk Bay with its wide array of boutiques, craft and antique stores and restaurants is a 20 minute drive. Long Beach Mall shopping centre is 10 minutes away. And right next door is Imhoff Farm, offering a range of eating, shopping, and activities - horse riding, camel rides, the Safari Maze, and the Snake Farm. Long Beach hosts one of Cape Town's premier surf breaks, and several other beaches are nearby. The establishment is home to four cats. Cat food will be provided.A cleaner can be arranged at an additional cost of ZAR250 per day.Sleeps 6ZAR2,500 per night.

The position on the lake on the deck was lovely. We felt unfortunately that the owners had just popped out, far too much clutter and personal belongings around. The main bedroom was spacious, but the other rooms were very disappointing. Definitely need to upgrade the linen , towels and pillows. The 4 cats may be a big issue with guests. The owners were delightful, however the place did diassapoint in many areas. If you are wanting modern and comfort, this is not the place.
