Karusa Farm Cottage

Karusa Farm Cottage is located in the heart of the Kango Valley on the Vogelsang farm in Schoemanshoek. Karusa Estate is located on Vogelsang Farm, next to the R26 en-route to the world-famous Cango Caves.

Offering fantastic mountain and landscape views between vineyards and orchards, this cottage is ideal for a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cottage has a minimum power supply that is mainly used for lighting.

This is an open-plan cottage that features a sleeping area with a queen size bed with an en-suite bathroom and a kitchen. The bathroom is fitted with a gas geyser, basin, shower only and the toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a two-plate stove, fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery and other cooking utensils for your self-catering needs. There is also an indoor braai, dining area and lounge with comfortable seating.

There is a patio with outdoor furniture and a portable braai outside. The lawn extends to the muscadel vineyards and is ideal for stargazing on summer evenings.

As part of the accommodation package, guests receive a complimentary wine tasting at Karusa Estate. Accommodation includes towels, soap, ground coffee, a variety of teas, sugar, milk, ice cream, braai wood, breakfast bars, fruit, water and nuts. A complete guide with activities in the area, an R62 card with all the famous attractions and magazines suitable for outdoor activities is available in the cottage.

Activities on the farm include a six km hiking trail through the vineyard and a 26 km mountain bike trail on the back roads of Schoemanshoek. A picnic spot in the vineyards is available on request.

There is a warehouse within walking distance of the cottage, filled with quality stone fruit, a wine cellar that produces Mediterranean wines as well as its own MCC, and a restaurant known for its pizza and tapas menu.
