Kusane Farm Cottages is perched high above the stunning Karkloof Valley, midway between Howick and Curry's Post on the Midlands Meander, with its fine restaurants and shopping. There are six cottages ranging of different sizes and with varying features.For the nature lover there are peaceful walks on the farm and good birding. With nearby access to the N3, it is approximately half an hour from Pietermaritzburg and four-and-a-half hours from Johannesburg.Each of the larger cottages has two bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, a spacious living area including a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, and a patio with braai facilities. There is Dstv with B&B channels and free wifi.

Karen went out of her way to make our stay pleasant, and we really felt at home. The view over the forest is breathtaking, perfect getaway to get some peace and tranquility. Stunning views from the Loft accommodation! by Daryl Wilkinson 24 December 2017 The accommodation was very clean, well stocked, where the kitchen and the bathroom facilities were all beyond our expectations!
The extra touches of a well stocked fridge upon our arrival helped ease us into relaxation mode!
Good communication through SafriaNow was made by our host but no personal welcome to our accommodation was experienced nor was there any info/welcome note to give an indication about keys, remotes, wifi codes, or emergency contacts upon our arrival.
Couple of items not available like braai tongs, scissors, jugs will help to improve tenants' comfort!
The person sleeping on the sleeper couch in the lounge had no privacy from other cottage tenants as no curtains/blinds provided on the large sliding doors to the communal balcony.
Also cramped parking area does not allow for easy allocated parking of vehicles.
These are just minor touches that would improve the overall experience of a tenants' stay at the cottages in the converted Barn!
Overall it was a very enjoyable and pleasant stay at the Loft in the converted Barn on the Kusane Farmstead!
