Lermitage Quagga Lodge

Located on the banks of the Berg River just outside Velddrif on the Cape West Coast, you will find the luxurious L'Ermitage Quagga Lodge. Here you will be treated to an unspoiled Cape West Coast getaway.Velddrif is located approximately 145 kilometres north of Cape Town, and surrounded by other popular destinations like Langebaan, Port Owen and Paternoster. It is situated near the point where the meandering Berg River flows into the ocean.
L'Ermitage Quagga Lodge consists of 5 modern Chalets overlooking the river. Each Chalet has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious lounge and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen as well as inside and outside BBQ facilities. Each Chalet offers complimentary wifi, DSTV satellite channels and ceiling fans. The Chalets are booked on a Self Catering basis.
L'Ermitage Quagga Lodge is the proud home of approximately 40 Quaggas, which has been rebred out of extinction. The lodge also have a couple of other rare species roaming it's plains. These includes the Blonde Wildebeest, Blonde Gemsbok (Oryx), Sable, Springbok and Buffalo. The Berg River estuary is also an important bird habitat, as it is home to around 30,000 birds. Daily Game Drives are available for our guests at an additional fee, offering a rare opportunity to see these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.
COMPLETE OFF THE GRID LIVING - In an effort to protect our beautiful environment, we strive to save water and energy and we do not interfere in the harmonic natural cycle of our surroundings. Our chalets have been designed and built in such a way that we are 100% dependent on solar power to generate electricity throughout the year. With an impressive backup system, our guests will never be in a situation where they won't have electricity. We also have our own borehole water and water filtration system.
