If you are looking for relaxation and enjoyment of nature with all the comforts of home, Reverie Safari Lodge is the place for you.

Decorated with pieces from all over Africa, the house is finished in warm colors and furnished with an eclectic collection of antiques and modern furnishings, including an iron stove converted to electricity, air-conditioners in the bedrooms and the best mattresses available for a good night's sleep.

There are two bedrooms, one with a loft with an additional bed, two full bathrooms, and a sleeper couch. We have DStv and internet access is available on request for a small additional charge. We are 15 minutes drive from world famous Kruger National Park with its wildlife and we also have regular animal visitors such as kudu, zebra, warthogs, monkeys and giraffes, while hundreds of birds make their home in all of the trees surrounding the house.

We are located next to Lionspruit, he private game reserve for Marloth Park and home to four of the Big 5, and sometimes hear the lions at night. The house rests between an open plain of parkland where animals come to graze or drink at our pond and a summer river with its special riverine biosphere. The house is surrounded by large shade trees, keeping it cool and providing plenty of privacy. Decks at the front and rear extend the house into the outdoors and an outdoor shower allows you to fully enjoy nature while the splash pond helps keep you cool. No other houses are visible from our house or decks so you feel completely immersed in nature.

Reiview of stay at Marloth Park Reverie Safari Lodge by

Marloth Park was easy to get to from Johannesburg International Airport. We enjoyed the five hour drive as it allowed us to familiarise ourselves with the area and ever-changing landscape. Reverie Safari Lodge was tastefully decorated and provided all the amenities we required. It felt like a home from home, and was both restful and stimulating. We spent most of our time at Kruger National Park, where we were privileged to have plentiful animal and bird sightings. However, we also benefited from experiencing impala, warthog, duiker, vervet monkeys and baboons in the garden at Reverie Safari Lodge. In addition, the multitude of birds kept us occupied for many hours. We visited Lionspruit, the wildlife reserve within Marloth, but did not feel that this was as fruitful as Kruger in terms of diversity of wildlife. We would recommend taking a walk along the perimeter fence adjoining the Crocodile River, as we saw many animals and birds on both sides of the fence, as well as some magnificent sunrises and sunsets. We were very sorry to leave, and felt that ten days was not long enough to fully explore the area. We therefore hope to be able to make a return visit in the future. For now, we will have to make do with our 1,000 photos to reminisce over!

Cleaning Service hours by

Cleaning service arrived at 8.45 am on our last day, even though checkout was 10am. This put pressure on us to evacuate earlier than planned, and was inconvenient, but luckily this did not dampen our holiday However, overall, fantastic place, beautifully decorated and very private. Would definitely go there again.
