Matemwe Beach Village

At Matemwe Beach we have guests and not clients, who relax and make themselves at home amongst our books, games and huge cushions, while making friends with the staff and other guests.

Our aim is simple, to provide authentic, stylish and comfortable accommodation, in an atmosphere of relaxed hospitality and friendliness, while services are provided effectively and efficiently.

We know you don't want to be in your room or the sun all day, so our suites all have plenty of chilled spots in which to relax and the standard rooms have verandas, as well as many communal areas like the coffee corner, the cushion lounge, the dhow lounge and the pool bar; as well as a number of shady beach bandas.

Our restaurant caters for all meals as well as offering a small snack menu at the pool bar during the day. Daily menus are small but carefully planned to please all seafood lovers, non-seafood lovers and vegetarians. For the starry eyed couples we organize dinner under the starry sky.

Diving is of course the primary activity for guests of Matemwe Beach, and we are lucky to have Zanzibar's premier dive operator One Ocean as a dive centre within our premises.
