Maweni House

Maweni House offers the very best of Kenyan coastal relaxation overlooking the Indian Ocean. The garden features secure access, straight out to a sandy quiet beach, perfect for peaceful walks and swimming out to sea. Kilifi is approximately one hour from either Mombasa or Malindi airports, and both offer reliable taxi services.

Maweni House contains five bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 guests. The master bedroom contains a double bed, the second and third bedrooms each contain twin beds, the fourth upstairs bedroom contains a double bed, and the fifth downstairs bedroom also contains a double bed. A cot is available if required and all of the bedrooms feature remote control air-conditioning, large mosquito nets and en-suite bathrooms. Most, but not all, of the rooms also have fans and four of the five bedrooms have access to the veranda, with spectacular views of the sea.

The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an oven cooker, hob, fridge-freezer, chest freezer, microwave, wine and drinks cooler, blender, deep fat fryer and coffee machine. Charles is the resident cook and will organize local fishermen to bring their catch of the day to the house for him to prepare delicious meals. Other features include an indoor lounge as well as a large outdoor veranda overlooking the pool and garden. The dining room seats 10, with the benefit of overhead fans, and an iPod docking station, TV and DVD player are available upon request. Beatrice, the resident housekeeper, offers daily housekeeping as well as clothes and linen washing, and separate pool and bathroom towels are available.

Maweni House is ideal for one or two families to share and the compound offers good security, including a night watchman. The beach is accessed through a secure gate in the garden and is ideal for young families as there is plenty of shallow paddling and soft white sand.
