Midlands Saddle and Trout Resort offers accommodation in fully equipped luxury chalets in several configurations. Midlands Saddle and Trout Resort is ideal for those looking to relax in the countryside, explore the Midlands Meander or enjoy all the exhilarating activities on offer; ranging from canopy tours to candle dipping, horse riding and almost anything imaginable in between.

Guests have a choice of one- or two-bedroom self-catering apartments. Each apartment features a TV with selected DStv channels, linen and towels, a fireplace, lock-up safe, a fan, and a hairdryer. Each unit includes a kitchen that is well-equipped with a fridge, kettle, toaster, a stove and oven, and a washing machine. In addition, each unit has a patio and a private braai area.

On-site facilities at the resort include adventure golf, badminton, a bar and cocktail lounge, bowls, bowling, a convenience store, and a restaurant, to name but a few.

A lovely family vacation by

My family and I stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage at Midlands Saddle and Trout and were very happy with the accommodation as well as the resort's recreational facilities. The staff were helpful and cheerful and we had no problems at all with our booking or stay. Considering how reasonable the rates are, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the cottage is and the extra effort the staff go to, such as presenting our towels in the shape of swans and elephants. My only criticism would be that the cottage lacks character (it would benefit from a horse or fishing theme), the garden around our braai area needs some tlc, a few tiles around the fireplace have cracked and need replacing and the wooden window frames in the shower have peeled from the water splashes and should probably be replaced with aluminium. On the other hand, the kitchen is very modern with new cabinetry,  granite work tops and is well equipped and the bathrooms are very large and modern. There is so much to do at the resort and I didn't realise that they have a programme planned for each day - from tea and scones in courtyard to kids activities and communal braai's etc We particularly enjoyed the putt-putt, pool and outdoor chess. My kids and I did the beginner horse ride and whilst the ride itself is quite underwhelming (you just get led along the road around the resort) the Clydesdale horses are absolutely magnificient. We intended to use the resort as a base to do the Midlands Meander but as it is rather far from most of the Meander stops and has so much to offer within the resort, when we go again we will rather do the Meander on the way up, stay a few days at the resort and concentrate on doing all the resort activities and then do the Meander on the way back home. I would definitely recommend this resort.
