Montego Resort is a tranquil and affordable Mozambique holiday destination for fun-loving and nature-orientated guests with its rustic bungalows, huts and terraced campsites nestled in the pristine coastal forest.

Here guest choose to stay in either cosy huts, or pitch a tent or park your caravan in the campsite. The accommodation is designed with minimum impact on the environment but still providing comfort and privacy to our guests.

The huts and bungalows utilizes the natural shade and thatched roofs as well as the cool sea breeze through large netted windows for natural cooling. Comfort is facilitated by clean and quality bedding, mosquito nets, comfortable furniture, space and clean en-suite bathrooms. Our accommodation is not self-catering but coffee, tea, mugs and a kettle is provided in each of the huts.

The resort offers a range of activities such as deep sea fishing, whale and turtle watching, reef and beach combing, hiking and sightseeing. The Pirates Point Restaurant offers a limited but scrumptious menu and is available to all guests.

Great Stay at Montego Resort by

We recently spent a brilliant two nights at Montego Resort on the way to and back from Inhambane. The staff were hospitable and friendly, and the food at the restaurant was fantastic and great value. Highly recommended!



Fantastic by

I enjoyed every moment at Montego, Xai Xai. It was the best holiday i had ever had in many years. I will surely visit that place again.

Fantastic location, most hospital hosts, calm and tranquil beach and camp site - will be going back!

No star! by

We were at Montego Resort for the Easter weekend 2016.  Not professional, unorganized and they were not even aware of our booking after confirming same with them via email previously.  Sorry to say but we will not recommend anyone visiting this place!!!


Not the greatest by

The resort needs some attention as far as maintenance is concerned. The owners are however very accommodating and very friendly.

LEON'S 60TH BIRTDAY CELEBRATION by

It was fantastic overall!! Cabins were nice and comfortable and clean! Unfortunately no seaview or self catering. Had to take to many kitchen stuff with. (Unnecessary baggage). Otherwise perfect! Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant just needs a wider variety of choices.

Everything abt the place is perfect,quiet place, nice view to the beach.humble workers,good breakfast. We enjoyed ourself at Montego resort.The owners are kind to ppl.if u want peace of mind Montego its the place n theres lots of entertainment around,Theres Bar,Sea view etc

Easy going happy stop by

We were camping. Really friendly staff. Accessible with a 2x4 and some nerve. Great vibe, view and food.

The location is the best of the camping site by

Overall we had a fairly good stay. The bathrooms need an upgrade or the maintenance should be done better. Some of the electric points did not work. When it rains the water flows through the tents and camping site like small rivers. All the equipment and tents were totally wet. The walk to the beach is great - the beach is also great. the manager was very helpful but it seems the resort is a little bit neglected.

The food was excellent stunning views huts were very neat and tidy however I think the netted windows where the bed is located should be replaced with glass windows it's a horrible draft when windy on the bed and I got a horrible cold consider making it self-catering huts but overall we had a fantastic time at Montego resort.

Miscommunication by

No clear communication with the Montego people about transportation. The rooms are nice and beach view in the restaurant. Breakfast not nice only supper much better with sea food No backup for electricity

Beach, Tranquility and Toffee (big Ridgeback) by

Wonderful shady spot. Deck with seaview. Seafood was great. The owner charged us 300 Rand although Safarinow offered 200 a night.
